Mike Pence Says That Trump’s Indictment Isn’t What Americans Want To See

Any prosecution and detention of Donald Trump would’ve been “politically motivated” and it would “tell you all there is to know well about the radical left,” according to Vice President Mike Pence.

The former vice president reacted angrily to reports that Mr. Trump may be detained on Tuesday for hush money payments to adult movie stars Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal. “I am taken aback by the thought of implicating a past US president at a time when New York City is experiencing a crime wave,” Mr. Pence told ABC News.

“The reality that Manhattan DA [district attorney] considers indicting President Trump to be his top priority tells you all there is to know about radical left in this country,” he says.

Mike Pence Is Against Trump’s Detention

Mike Pence, who served in the White House under President Trump from 2017 to 2021, remarked, “It just seems like a fiercely partisan prosecution here.” Mr. Trump, 76, got a standing reception as he arrived at an Oklahoma wrestling competition on Saturday evening, only hours after claiming he would be arrested on Tuesday.

The crowd applauded and pumped his fist as the former president walked to his seat, dressed in his distinctive blue jacket and red tie and escorted by his security team. He previously stated that “illegal disclosures” from the Manhattan office of the district attorney suggested that he would be indicted.

Mr. Trump made the allegation on his Truth Social platform but presented no evidence that he had been directly told of an impending arrest and did not explain how he learned of such preparations. According to NBC News, law enforcement authorities are preparing to indict Mr. Trump as soon as next week.
