U.K Prime Minister Boris Johnson urges Britons to slim down to beat COVID 19

Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister of United Kingdom who succeeded Theresa Mary May has suggested his measures to cope up with the Coronavirus pandemic raging all across the globe. He was the Mayor of London from 2008-2016 and later Foreign Secretary from 2016-2018.

In a recent video released by Johnson on Monday, he reveals losing weight, precisely 14 pounds since he was admitted to a hospital in London in the month of April.

It was on the same day that the Brit Government also restricted television commercials before 9 p.m for food with high-fat content and sugar and salt.

It must have been surprised many, who still remember Boris supporting freedom for individual food choices, his 2006 feat being extending support to a mothers’ group who pushed fast food through the railings of a school where these junk food items were banned.

However, he may have turned a conscious eye towards his health now, after having a close call with death.

“I’ve always wanted to lose weight for ages and ages, and like, I think, many people I struggle with my weight, it goes up and down, but since I recovered from coronavirus I’ve been steadily rebuilding my fitness,” he said.

It must be noted that obesity and excessive weight have been unanimously linked with several diseases and organ failures in people. In the wake of COVID19, it has been linked to an increasingly deteriorating health and weaker immune system, making the person susceptible to the virus infection.
