The Goldbergs Ends After 10 Seasons With An Unexpected Twist

The Goldbergs

The Goldbergs have finished all of their videotapes: On Wednesday, the long-running ABC comedy ended its ten-season run with a Back to the Future-themed series finale aptly dubbed “Bev to the Future.”

In The Goldbergs epilogue, Adam accompanied his mother Beverly to her high school reunion, where she reconnected with George (Rob Corddry), a previous flame. Adam, who was upset that his mother was moving on from his father, wanted to prevent Bev and George’s possible rekindled chemistry so that she wouldn’t date the wrong person. But after having a difficult conversation with his mother, Adam changed his mind and asked George to Muriel’s first birthday.

The Goldbergs’ Conclusion Came As A Surprise To All

In The Goldbergs’ relationship news, Adam and his girlfriend Carmen sped away in his uncle’s DeLorean (a sign of things to come? ), while Barry and Joanne eloped to prove to everyone that they’re a genuine couple!

If the episode seemed like it brought some closure while leaving the door open for another season, that’s because it wasn’t supposed to be the show’s final episode. Similarly, the show’s cast was unaware that the series was going to end until they had already shot its last sequences. “They told us four days after we finished our season.” So, like, two days before our wrap party,” actress Wendi McLendon-Covey, who plays Beverly Goldberg, tells TVLine.

However, the delayed announcement ended up being a blessing in disguise. In hindsight, I believe it was for the best because if we had known beforehand, nothing would have been accomplished. All of us would have been in tears,” says McLendon-Covey.
