The White House credits recent declines in egg and gas prices to the economic policies of the Trump administration.
“Americans are witnessing the benefits as President Donald J. Trump’s economic agenda takes shape,” the White House stated in a press release on Monday.
“Following years of escalating prices and economic distress, the Trump Administration’s efforts to reduce regulations and promote American energy are bringing stability to American households,” it added.
After a prolonged period of high egg prices, driven mainly by a widespread bird flu outbreak during the final months of the Biden administration and the initial phase of the Trump administration, egg prices are now decreasing.

According to the White House, the national average wholesale price for eggs has plummeted by over 47% in just two months, noting that it has fallen for three consecutive weeks.
“The average wholesale price of eggs has experienced another significant drop today as the Trump administration executes its plan for long-term affordability by correcting the previous administration’s missteps,” the statement highlighted.
Gas prices nationwide are also on the decline, which the White House attributes to the Trump administration’s “American energy agenda.”

Gas prices have decreased by ten cents in the last month and by 42 cents compared to last year.
Current average gas prices are the lowest they’ve been for March in four years.
As reported by GasBuddy, over two-thirds of gas stations nationwide have fuel prices below $3 per gallon, although some states still report averages exceeding $3 or even $4 per gallon.

The states with the highest average gas prices are California at $4.66, Hawaii at $4.52, and Washington at $4.08. However, all of these states are experiencing significant reductions compared to a year ago.
“At this point during Biden’s presidency, gas prices had already increased by 49 cents,” the White House commented.
